Hezbollah’s Next Generation
September 15, 2006
In documents uncovered in southern Lebanon, IDF forces have revealed that Hezbollah is training tens of thousands of children and young adults in the art of terrorism. Youth organizations called The Imam Al-Mahdi Scouts are indoctrinating children from age 8 to 16 with radical Islamic beliefs including the soon revelation of a "hidden" messiah and an apocalyptic battle for world domination in Allah’s name.
In a recent report distributed by the Center for Special Studies at Israel’s Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center the Israeli Defense Forces uncovered a massive amount of literature in southern Lebanon documenting the indoctrination of 42,000 Lebanese children into Hezbollah.
"Hezbollah established its Imam Mahdi Scouts to attract Shiite children and adolescents, to influence their hearts and minds and to prepare new generations of youth indoctrinated with radical Shi'ite Islam, which propounds the idea of the return of the Mahdi (messiah) as one of Hezbollah's central principles," reports Israel’s Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center.
Among the recovered documents are Scout Calendars which celebrate past terrorist activities around the world including September 11. The calendar also elevates past terrorists as Heroes of Islam and documents the days which they gave their life in "Holy War" for Allah.
The following "doctrines" are taught to the children:

The following "doctrines" are taught to the children:
- Israel must be destroyed. The Jewish people are evil and must be uprooted from Israel and the land returned to the House of Allah.
- A "hidden imam" is coming as the Shi'ite Messiah and he will redeem the world. There have been 11 imams or holy men and the 12th one will only be revealed when Judgment Day is approaching. According to one of the Shi'ite Moslem’s central beliefs, the Mahdi (Messiah) is super-human, infallible and all-powerful.
- Only the faithful will be accepted by this coming "Messiah". "Martyrs" are the epitome of a faithful Muslim. Anyone willing to sacrifice himself for Jihad (Holy War) will automatically be accepted into Paradise.
Along with indoctrination is military training. The scouts are taught the basics of how to handle firearms and other weapons including explosives. The Center for Special Studies has photographs of children marching in formation and carrying mock weapons. The children are marching over an American and Israeli flag. Intense physical training is also a part of many of the training camps.
The Imam Mahdi Scouts are administered by the Lebanese government's department of education. They are staffed and funded by Hezbollah. They were originally founded by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as training camps for young terrorists. Four-hundred and ninety-nine scout groups exist in Lebanon today with over 42,000 children having completed or in the process of completing 8 years of terrorist training.
The Intelligence and Terrorist Information Center sums up its findings by saying, "Hezbollah wants to create a new generation of operatives for its own ranks who will take part in its violent campaign against Israel."
